Good questions

Questions, answered.

What is a board-and-train stay?

Your dog lives with a trainer for a set period and practices skills daily. You then attend a handoff lesson so you can use the same cues at home.

How much does a stay cost around Dallas?

General estimates run about $1,500 to $2,500 or more for two to three weeks. Trainers set their own prices.

How long do stays last?

Two to three weeks is common, though lengths differ by program and by dog.

Can I request a trainer here?

Not yet. Nobody is taking requests from this site and there is no form.

What should I ask first?

Ask about the daily schedule, the sleeping area, the methods used, update habits and the full price in writing.

Is board and train right for every dog?

No. Very anxious dogs, or dogs with health concerns, may do better with lessons at home. A veterinarian can help you decide.

Does this site recommend a trainer?

No. It lists, ranks and recommends no one.

Are the prices quotes?

No. They are general estimates and vary by trainer, dog and market.
